The March 2023 clinic trips took place on March 18 at Puerto Adolfo Lopez Mateos and Laguna San Ignacio.  Our providers included three general medical volunteers, a dentist, a dental hygienist, chiropractors, optometrist, eyeglass fittings, pharmacist and interpreters.  Six planes with pilots Charlie Brown, Chuck Schroll, John Heinrich, Larry Karpurk, Pat McClure and Randy Caves provided transportation.

At the Lopez clinic we were able to provide 281 services to patients.  It should be noted that on Thursday and Friday prior to the clinic Scott Farrell and and crew performed visual screenings and fittings for eyeglasses to 114 students and adults at one of the schools in Lopez. Additionally, 15 adults from the community and the cannery were seen Friday afternoon.

At the LSI clinic 26 services were provided by Maria Cook, dentist, Beth Diedrich, family NP, and Shelly Collins, dental hygienist.

The Lopez general medical group included Lynn Smith, Dave Moore, Mel Radcliffe and Claudia Hart who were aided by interpreters Joey Flynn, Roman Vasquez and Ana Torres.  Dentist Jack Lipton had help from Dave Lindgren and Randy Caves.  Chiropractic services were provided by Gene and Neta Kimmel.  Nick Tex, pharmacist, dispensed 87 prescriptions.  Our nurses, Susan Canale and Robert Stuart, managed triage. Regan Caves helped with medical files for triage.

Our local contacts, Oliver Collins and Kimberley Goff helped with optometry and Andrea Gomez and Guillermo Goméz Fregoso supplied our tasty lunch.

At the Hotel Serenidad on Saturday evening we were fortunate to be a part of the event put on by a local pet rescue group by the name of P.A.W Mulegé.  A delicious dinner, drinks, music, silent auction and raffle were part of the festivities to aid in fund raising for their group. They provide spaying, neutering and foster care for dogs and cats.  They accept donations at their website, www.pawclinic.wordpress.com.

I will mention, once again, that clinic repairs and maintenance are ongoing expenses. We also purchase medications and needed medical equipment so donations are always appreciated.  Renewing memberships is helpful whether you can schedule a clinic trip or not.

All in all, the clinics were an amazing success due to the dedication of each and every one of our volunteers.  Thank you to all.
