Debi Sparks, RDH
Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering in the Dental Dept. of the Flying Samaritans Arizona, Phoenix Chapter. We have a very well equipped dental facility which includes basic supplies for restorative procedures, routine extractions, and hygiene services. Through donations we have been able to secure 6 chairs and units, 2 Statum sterilizers, ultrasonic instrument cleaner, radiography, handpieces, forceps, hand instruments and Cavitrons.
Our dentist will see approximately 15 patients and hygienists average 10-12. We never start a procedure that will need immediate follow-up as there is no other dental provider in the near vicinity.
We normally wear scrub tops and jeans, or longer shorts in the hot months. I only ask providers to bring things such as gloves, masks, glasses or materials that will make the experience more comfortable for you.
We cannot bring any outdated supplies to Mexico but are always happy to accept customarily used current materials for bonding, LA, disinfection, etc. Consumables are very much appreciated (paper, plastics, toothbrushes, etc.).
