The Flying Samaritans July clinic was cancelled due to the last minute cancellation of one of the airplanes, leaving one plane which could not accommodate all of the providers.  This has been a challenging year for having enough airplanes/pilots to meet our transportation needs to our clinics.  Here’s hoping we can improve on that in the coming season.  Our first clinic will be October 20-22 so it is not too early to start thinking about volunteering for this trip.

Contacts for pilot volunteers are Charlie Brown (charlie@metalmagic.com) and Don Downey (c310dd@aol.com).  Don will add your name to the trip list each month and they both can provide valuable current information about international travel.  Charlie accompanies new pilots on their first flight or has them fly with him first time.

It is well worth mentioning that we have a number of people who work behind the scenes each month planning the clinics and recruiting volunteers.  Those individuals include your officers Pat McClure, Treasurer; Melinda Ratcliffe, Vice President; Lauri Johnson, Secretary; and me, President; Coordinators Charlie And Don (Pilot/Trip); Gail Brown (Medical), Beth Diedrich (Triage), Debi Sparks (Dental), Patricia Henthorn (Chiropractic), Nick Tex (Pharmacy), Lee LaFollette (Webmaster), Toni Bryan (Social Media), Erika Sales (Membership), Lauri Johnson (Optometry), and Bonnie Lassen (Interpreters).

The contact information for the above-noted folks is available on our website www.flyingsamaritans.com and now is a good time to start volunteering for the October trip.  🙂  Any recruitment help from the general membership for the various providers is always welcome.
