The January 2023 clinic trip took place on January 21st at Puerto Adolfo Lopez Mateos. We provided a staff of general medicine, a pediatrician, optometrist, dentists, interpreter and a pharmacist. This resulted in 127 services provided to patients and 42 prescriptions were dispensed. We would not have successful clinics were it not for the dedication of our medical providers, dentists, interpreters and pharmacist. And, again, the Aeromédicos provided a much needed dentist.
A big portion of the services this time were due to the eye glasses program that Scott Farrell and his team have provided. Eighty patients benefitted from reading glasses, eye exams and eye glasses which were brought down to Lopez from previous eye exams and fitted on this trip. Additionally, Charlie Brown flew down a day early with Scott and they were able to do eye exams for students at a local school and provide them with their glasses.
With two plane cancellations at the last minute, we had some locals step up and help out. Judith, who is always there to help, stayed for a good portion of the day. Also we had two student nurses who helped triage with blood pressure measurements. Kimberly Goff aided as an interpreter. Thanks to all.
Guillermo and Andrea provided our usual delicious lunch.
Charlie Brown, Larry Karpurk and Tom installed new lights in the clinic and a new door and door frame on the vacuum and air compressor room.
Thank you to all who participated in the January clinic trip.
