The May Flying Samaritans Clinic took place on May 16 at Lopez Mateos.  Pilots Brice Dill, Pat McClure, Paul Rowley and Bob Dobransky transported the volunteers to Loreto and Lopez Mateos.

The direct to Lopez plane, piloted by Paul Rowley, carried Jeffrey Dickman, Boomer Bramwell and Bonnie Lassen who, along with Judith Logan, cleaned up and set up for the Saturday clinic.

As usual, a line of patients waited for the opening on Saturday morning and with Boomer and Bonnie organizing  triage, Dr. Dickman started seeing dermatological patients. Claudia Hart provided pediatric services, Gail Brown Ob/Gyn, and Kevin Jensen general med.  Pam McMahon efficiently managed dental patients and April Gould saw dental hygiene patients.  Karen Leon provided triage services with helper Boomer Bramwell.  Helper Summer Gould assisted in dental hygiene.  Judith Logan dispensed reading glasses and sun glasses and Bryan Kuhn worked as our pharmacist. Interpreters were Cory Lovett and Bonnie Lassen.  Additionally, packets containing dental health and hygiene information for children were shared with the patients.  Over 138 different services were provided on this trip.

Paul Rowley conducted his monthly pilot safety meeting and is our “go to guy” for local supplies including our fresh water dispenser.

Pat McClure continues to efficiently manage the sterilization of dental instruments and Robert Logan provided our usual delicious lunch.

All volunteers enjoyed an after clinic dinner in Loreto and a group was able to partake of a short boat trip to a nearby island.

For the past few months we have been happy and grateful to add newcomers to our organization and this month that included Jeff Dickman, Boomer Bramwell and Summer Gould.

A reminder that June will be our last clinic for the season and we will resume our monthly visits in October.

Our monthly administrative meeting takes place on the first Monday of each month at 6:30 at the Chandler Airport conference room.  If you have an interest in attending, you are always welcome.
