April 2014 Trip Report

First a word about our social/potential new member information event on Saturday 4/26 starting at 5pm, this event is  not at the South Mountain location of Aunt Chilada’s restaurant.  I have talked to several who made that assumption.   The event will be held at the Aunt Chilada’s in the Pointe resort complex that is east of 16 th Street between Glendale Ave and Northern Ave in Phoenix.  Please visit the website or see this link for specific directions http://www.auntchiladas.com/location/index.html

This month we held clinic at Lopez Mateos only, the plan being that LSI will be an every other month clinic for now.  We realized a few months ago that the third Saturday in April would fall on Easter weekend, a holiday that is a very big occasion in Mexico.  The clinic was moved to the second Saturday, but there were lingering concerns that attendance could be poor because so many of our patients depend on that consistent third Saturday to make their plans.  Those fears were unfounded.  No, it wasn’t the very large turnout we saw in March, but it was a well-attended clinic.  I’ll refer you to Alicia’s blog for the specifics. http://samaritansmovil.blogspot.com/

I realized that I had not mentioned we had an article published a few months ago in the Winter 2014 edition of the Arizona Mexico commission’s magazine, The Catalyst.  If you follow this link http://www.azmc.org/news/amc-2014-winter-catalyst/ you should find the article on page 17.

As I try to think of other items of interest, I’m at a loss for anything that was unique.  It was a very rewarding trip and successful clinic, enhanced by the good flying weather, the good service by Hotel Serenidad and as always, the very pleasant association with a really great group of people.

The next clinic will be back to our schedule of third Saturday of the month, May 16-18.  We are planning clinics at both Lopez Mateos and LSI.  I hope to see you at our social/potential new member information event and the next clinic

¡ Viva las clínicas !
